With both basketball teams winning last night, it marks just the tenth time since joining the Southland since the Bears and Sugar Bears have won on the same day. Both teams have logged victories at the same time against Nicholls four times, McNeese State thrice, Southeastern Louisiana twice and Northwestern State once.
Both teams will host McNeese State at the Farris Center on Saturday. It will be the first conference double-header UCA fans have seen since the Bears and Sugar Bears played Southern Arkansas on Feb. 23, 2006.
The Sugar Bears kicked things off that night with a 75-65 victory, followed by the Bears topping the Muleriders 73-56.
Saturday will also be Faith & Family Day at the Farris Center.

Don't forget the pancake breakfast at Stoby's on Sunday. UCA's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee is hosting this event from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. to raise money for Make-A-Wish. The cost is $5 (cash or check only) for all you can eat pancakes.
The SAAC will present Make-A-Wish with the proceeds at the Feb. 19 men's basketball game against Sam Houston State.
